Remembering Dee Y Moore, Sr...
November 21, 1924- September 26,2009

Maine Mavericks lost their "First" First Foreman in September. Dee Y. Moore was one of the founders of our club in 1965. We started in his kitchen in Maine, New York.

Dee Y was the ultimate horseman. A gentle, charming individual who was loved by his horses and all who knew him. Known locally and nationally for his skills in barrels, reining, and performance, he won nine National Championships.

He ran his service station in Endwell, New York for 52 years where customers were assured of good work at a fair price.

Born in Mt Vernon, Texas, Dee Y's heart was always Texan. His soft Texas drawl and good nature, along with his sideburns and full eyebrows were his signature. We will miss his sense of fair play and infectious good humor.
